In 1880, G.G. (George) Clarkson founded the grading contractor that became Clarkson Construction Company. Since that time, Clarkson and its affiliated companies have constructed many of the Midwest’s dams and flood control projects, built much of the regions interstate highway system, excavated and prepared sites for office, residential, retail and entertainment venues, and paved more than a thousand miles of municipal, county and private streets.

Clarkson Construction Company today is one of the Midwest’s largest and most diversified heavy constructors performing over 80% of the work on projects with its own labor and equipment forces. Clarkson has developed a reputation for taking on the most difficult projects and completing them ahead of schedule while maintaining safety levels that set the standard for the industry.
